Two killed in Sudan curfew violation

In the North African country of Sudan, a security official shot dead two people for violating the curfew.

A spokesman for the Sudanese military said in a statement that it had been asked to stop a speeding rickshaw coming towards the military checkpoint, two people were injured and taken to hospital but could not recover.

The soldier who opened fire has been taken into custody for legal action.

A Sudanese army spokesman said civilians had been told to abide by the curfew and respect the instructions of security forces.
