The Houston police chief taught US President Donald Trump the distinction
Regarding the use of force against protesters Houston’s police chief angered at the behest of the US president.
“I have to tell President Trump on behalf of the nation’s police chief that if you can’t have some constructive dialogue, please keep your mouth shut,” he said in an interview.
“You are risking people’s lives by talking like this,” he said.
“It’s not a matter of using force to defeat protesters, it’s a matter of winning hearts, and we have to understand that kindness does not confuse people by calling it a weakness,” the Houston police chief said.
“Our police officers are injured, community members are injured. If you can’t say anything about it, then don’t say anything,” he added.
“Because this is the basic principle of leadership and we need the right leadership more than ever, now is the time to be a good president. Don’t think that you are part of The Apprentice,” he said.
The police chief said that this is not Hollywood, this is real life and real lives are at stake.
